A total of 30 musicians participated. The audience was enthusiastic, as well as participating musicians. The combination of different musical genres made the program special. The neighbors were very interested in the stories of the locations and were happy to learn about them. The concerts have established themselves as a format that brings history and music to a broad and diverse audience in a participatory, innovative, and low-threshold way. The success of all the events showed that there is both the need and the space for cultural offerings in other locations in the 15th district.
This year we cooperated with the festival XX Art Flanerie, which took place from 2.7. to 10.7. Mirjana Mustra made a project You Are Not Alone, a feminist intervention in public space for raising awareness about femicides. The collective textile installation on the trees at Burjanplatz was made with the participation of female* artists survivors of gender violence: Kristina Cyan, Sara Hawy, Neda Nikolic, Verena Charmine, Gordana Djotunovic, Marija Ilic, Asija Ismailovska and Mirjana Djotunovic Mustra.
The concert at Burjanplatz had a focus on women* stories, musically as well as in the lecture of Thomas Reithmayer, which took place directly after the speech of our guest Irma Lechner, director of the 3rd Vienna Women’s Shelter.
We kindly thank to Dezentrale Bezirkskulturförderung, Kulturkommission des 15. Bezirks and MA7 for financial support, and Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus Bezirksmuseum for the beautiful cooperation.
